Jeremy Tailor said, ‘ In dwelling on divine mysteries, keep your heart humble, your thoughts reverent, your soul holy. Let not philosophy be ashamed to be confuted, nor logic to be confounded, nor reason to be surpassed.’
What you can not prove, approve; what you can not comprehend, believe; what you can believe, admire, love and obey, so shall your ignorance be satisfied in your faith and your doubts be swallowed up in your reverence, and your faith be as influential as sight.
Any human association of necessity is characterized by people with differences of ideas, interests and understanding. People of different economic, social, geographical, cultural and ethnic backgrounds.
How you accommodate individual differences will determine whether you are actually ignorant or not.
Do not make the goal to always see life as ‘ the glass is half full when in reality that same glass is half empty.’ In most cases, there are things to be positive about and there are issues to address. Toxic positivity can lead to ignoring real problems.
Awareness of our ignorance can broaden our perspective on the human condition.. Life may take from us what we want but it often also presents to us what we need.
Understanding ourselves and the world around us helps us form effective responses, ignorance can pose threat to our mental and physical health. Denial prevents us from understanding challenges and tolerating difficult inner status and this becomes obstacle to psychological well being.
Indeed KNOWLEDGE IS POWER.
